Quick Scrappy Patchwork from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I think one of the most challenging task of Many Hands and Many Hearts is keeping up with the scraps that are created making all these quilts.  And I know it is going to be more challenging in the future as we make more quilts.



So, I find myself whipping out quick patchwork quilts.  This week , I went through the RWB scraps and found quite a few prints I could cut into 4.5" squares.

Simple Blue and White Patchwork Quilt from A Little Bit Biased

Who said a quilt has to be intricate or time-consuming to make!?

Not me!  I love simple patchwork!
I had some blues leftover from a few projects recently
so I decided to cut them into 3 1/2" squares for a simple lap-size quilt. 


I did a 17 x 21 block layout, so this quilt finished at 51" x 63".
I think it would be perfect for a little boy.

Making Progress from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I did have a finish to share with you today but it was pushed out to a later date.  I worked with the Fat Quarter Shop and made another shortcut quilt.  So today you will just have to read about the progress I made on my recent scrap quilt.




I have been pulling a bunch of my brown scraps and cutting them into 4.5" squares.  I also completed a bunch of 4.5" hourglass blocks in black and cream.  My inspiration piece had the hourglass blocks laid out like above.
